The last weekend in April - Every Year!

The Shriners International Bass Tournament is open to Shriners or Master Masons who are fishing with a Shriner. The tournament is not open to the general public. It's purpose is to raise money for the Shriners Hospitals for children and have fun doing it. And we do have fun !


The entry fee is $150.00 a person for a total of $300.00 per boat. Both participants must sign up and pay at the same time to receive a boat number assignment.

Shriners’ Open Buddy Bass Tournament Best Yet in Spite of Severe Weather !

The winner of the $5,000 was the team of Larry Wilcox and Ron Wedgpeth of Springfield area. The largest fish caught was a 5.47 pound bass. The heaviest stringer belonged to Darren Plank and Randy Emerson and weighed 34 pounds. The awards ceremony and banquet took place at the Shell Knob Club south of Shell Knob. Ron Jester, Buddy Bass Tournament Chairman praised the fortitude of the fishermen in the tournament and their sportsmanship. The local Shiners’ Ladies Auxiliary club would like to thank the Shell Knob community for their hospitality to the 60 Shiners’ wives that supported their husbands’ effort in this major fund raiser.

Saturday morning, 7 a.m. broke with clear skies and choppy waters at Table Rock Lake in Shell Knob, Missouri. Registration and live well checks took place at Campbell Point Marina. But by noon the weather had turned dark and disturbed. This did not stop the 78 Open Buddy Bass Tournament fisherman from fighting winds of 60 miles an hour to finish for the day. There were three waves of storms in the Shell Knob, Missouri area in the two day tournament. Sunday morning was a repeat of Saturday, but by weigh-in time the battle was worth the effort. The total weight of the 500 fish caught for the tournament was 900 pounds.
